The Snake Plant is just the ideal plant for those plant lovers, wanting to remove toxins from the air.

The Sansevieria (Snake Plants) are native to Africa and Madagascar so they will thrive in warm conditions, like a nice warm house and they love bright light. Having said that, they’re a very low maintenance plant so will be quite happy in a partially shaded area and will tolerate some neglect – perfect for the time-poor and newbie plant parents among you!

The gorgeous, pointy leaves of your Snake Plant will stand tall to form a gorgeous bundle, giving you a gorgeous pop of deep green colour and when they flower, they produce a single spike of small white flowers – just beautiful.

Would you like some luck in your lives? According to the ancient art of Feng Shui, the Snake Plant brings good luck and cuts through negative energy, just one of many reasons why this green beauty is a fab addition to your indoor jungle. As well as bringing a boost of good luck and positive energy, the fabulous Snake Plant also brings a whole host of health benefits. He’s a brilliant air purifying plant, working particularly hard during the night, absorbing CO2 and other toxins so he’s a great plant to include in your bedroom décor. To find out even more about our much-loved Snakey, check out our blog all about owning and caring for a Sansevieria.

Please note: the Snake Plant you receive may differ in colour and pattern from our photos. Snake Plants are known as rough and ready beauties; splits, markings, tip discolouration and imperfections on the leaves are all very normal and the colour and patterns will vary from plant to plant. Whatever patterns and colours you receive, they’re sure to be unique and oh-so-beautiful.

Care

Don’t be over generous with your watering. Give your Sansevieria approx. 300 ml of water every few weeks. You can let the soil become dry to the touch between watering. Feed with a generic houseplant feed every couple of months. Is happiest in a bright area of full sun but will tolerate partial light conditions indoors.

Read our plant care guide, to help keep your Sansevieria looking fresh.

  • I wasn’t sure that I’d love old Snakey but how wrong I was! It has incredibly beautiful mackerel markings that range from green to yellow and sits in the corner exuding quiet wisdom. I’m in awe.

  • Gorgeous plant and easy to care for, only given 4* as it arrived with quite a bit of scarring to the leaves.

  • I am delighted with my Sansevieria (Snakey). It arrived this morning. It’s a very healthy gorgeous looking plant and was well packaged with a lovely pot. My other succulents love their new friend and I cannot wait for many many more.

  • A bit disappointed this time, with my plant it had a lot of earth at the bottom of the box and when removing the plant I saw it was leaning to one side. I'm putting it on the window ledge to try and straighten it. All plants my son and I have received before where perfect.

  • Love my little snakey - he sits beautifully on my home-office desk. We've renamed him Sharkey as my partner doesn't like snakes! He was well packaged when delivered and arrived in perfect condition, with clear instructions of how to look after him, and is still alive a month later -which is a big win as I am rubbish with plants normally. I have since recommend Little Botanicla to friends and have used it to be a gift for a friend too. I couldn't be happier with my little Sharkey!

  • I'm not a green fingered person at all but decided recently to branch out from succulents to green house plants. TLB give such straight forward care instructions, and have many easy to look after plants which is just what I needed. I am loving the addition of Snakey to our bedroom - a beautiful plant which brings me joy and I'm managing to keep alive with a bit of watering every couple of weeks.

  • Very striking plant. The one in the first picture is a Zeylanica and in the other picture the snake plant with the yellow edges is a Laurentii. These are the plants you could receive. They are both great plants. I received the Laurentii and it was in a very healthy condition with no damage or browning to the tips. The plant was very well packaged. Would definitely recommend, great for beginners.
