The String of Hearts (Ceropegia woodii) is celebrated for its cascading vines adorned with small, heart-shaped leaves. Each leaf has a unique pattern of deep green and silver that adds texture and visual interest. The undersides of the leaves often exhibit a lovely shade of purple, adding a subtle hint of color that enhances the plant's overall allure. This trailing beauty is perfect for hanging baskets, shelves, or any space where its vines can elegantly cascade.
Despite its delicate appearance, the String of Hearts is remarkably easy to care for, making it an ideal choice for both novice plant enthusiasts and experienced gardeners. This plant thrives in bright, indirect light but can also tolerate some direct sunlight. It prefers well-draining soil and requires minimal watering—simply allow the soil to dry out between waterings to keep it healthy and thriving. The String of Hearts is a resilient plant that rewards minimal effort with lush, cascading growth.
The String of Hearts also offers various health benefits. As a natural air purifier, it helps remove common household toxins from the air and it is also non-toxic for pets and other animals. We also feature a number of other air purifying and pet friendly options.

Care
A String of Hearts needs watering about once every 10 days. Take care not to let your plant sit in water as this can cause root rot. After each water, let him dry out before watering him again. Gently pull off any yellow leaves and untangle the strings when needed. Position your String of Hearts close to a window as they love a sunny spot. If it looks straggly over time, don’t be afraid to give him a little haircut. This will stimulate new growth and should be done in the summer months. Growth will be much slower in the wintertime.
