The Calathea houseplant, measuring approximately 25-35cm total height, is a pretty special guy, with its stunning stripey leaves that have a certain elegance about them. The beautiful leaves are delicately patterned making this a true must-have of the indoor jungle. In its natural habitat, this plant spends much of its life under the dense jungles of South America so likes damp soil to keep at its best & looking fresh. The underside of the leaves is often as interesting to look at as the top, so think about placing it somewhere in your home where you can get a glimpse of both.
Our big Monstera, measuring approximately 45-55cm total height, is one highly sought-after plant. With its huge glossy green holey leaves, the Monstera is the indoor plant of the moment. These plants are in high demand and short supply.

Care
The Calathea will thank you if you avoid direct sunlight. An ideal spot is in indirect light and away from cold draughts. Water once a week to keep the soil moist. Feed with a generic plant feed once a month. A bathroom or kitchen is a good location as it will enjoy the higher moisture levels. You can also improve the humidity by placing a few plants all together.
Water the gorgeous Monstera once a week. We recommend watering from the base for these larger indoor house plants, allow to soak for 10 minutes in a sink with cool water, If the soil looks damp, let it dry out a little before adding more water. Feed with a generic houseplant feed every couple of months however this shouldn’t be needed for the first 3-6 months. The Monstera’s do like a bright spot, but too much sunshine can scorch their leaves.
The leaves are a beautiful glossy dark green heart shape – keep them shiny with a quick wipe of a damp cloth once a month.
