I’ve got beautiful patterned leaves which move up and down like praying hands.

Calathea Angela has vibrant, stripey green leaves with a subtle silvery pink tone. These patterned oval leaves make this houseplant unique in every way. With its deep maroon underside, this plant is stunning to look at no matter where it is placed in your home. It’s also known as a prayer plant as these leaves move as the day turns to dusk and open again at dawn.

Calatheas need a little bit of love and attention and the Calathea Angela isn’t an exception. This houseplant needs watering every 7 - 10 days or once the soil is slightly dry to touch.

This Calathea Angela arrives planted in either our bespoke Little Botanical stoneware or ceramic pots, the perfect instant solution to adding greenery to your space. He’ll look fab on his own or why not group him together with other houseplants to keep the humidity level high? Take a look at our full range of Calatheas if you want to create your very own plant gang.

Adding patterned leafy greenery to your indoor jungle will give your interior space a real wow factor. The Calathea Angela is pet-friendly too, which means your furry friends will be able to enjoy it just as much as you will.

Other names: Maranta leuconeura, Prayer Plant

This beautiful Calathea should be watered once every 7 to 10 days and we’d suggest you keep checking the soil especially during Summer to ensure it hasn’t dried out. Treat them to a little mist every week or so to keep those leaves looking lush and don’t forget to dust them too!

A medium-light to bright spot is perfect for these beauties – just be careful in the Summer months as they don’t love direct sun, as it can scorch their leaves. Trim off any discoloured leaves as they grow to ensure they look perfect and encourage new growth too!

Don’t forget to keep them out of draughts and away from radiators. They'll thrive in medium light and high humidity so are perfect for a bathroom or kitchen.
