I have large leafy palms, i’m pet-friendly and i’m easy to look after too! With all those leaves, I look great in any space.
Bring an instant holiday vibe to your home with the Areca Palm (Dypsis lutescens)—a lush, feathery palm that turns any bright corner into a tropical retreat. Its elegant arching fronds create a natural focal point in living rooms, dining areas or home offices, while quietly improving air quality and humidity. Even better, the Areca Palm is pet-friendly, so you can enjoy statement greenery without worrying about curious cats or dogs.
Large: Supplied in a 21 cm growing pot, standing approximately 100 cm tall—perfect for filling empty floor space or adding height to plant groupings.
XL: Supplied in a 24 cm growing pot, reaching around 120 cm tall—ideal for creating an eye-catching botanical centrepiece in spacious, well-lit rooms.
Both sizes look spectacular in our signature Little Botanical planters, adding a modern, textural contrast to the palm’s vibrant green foliage.
Your Areca Palm enjoys bright, indirect light and appreciates a drink when the top few centimetres of soil feel dry. Water less in winter and mist the leaves occasionally to keep them looking fresh. During delivery, a frond or two may pick up minor blemishes—simply snip damaged leaves at the base. Give your palm a day or two to settle; within 24 hours the fronds will relax back into their graceful arch.

Low maintenance: Forgiving of missed waterings and thrives in average UK home conditions.
Commonly referred to as the Butterfly Palm or Golden Cane Palm, this adaptable beauty remains a timeless favourite for plant lovers who want drama, freshness and an easy-going personality in one leafy package. Place your Areca Palm centre-stage, sit back and let its tropical charm transform your indoor jungle.
An Areca palm likes a well-lit spot but not direct sunlight. Direct sun can cause the leaves to brown. The soil should be kept slightly moist. Areca palms should be watered once a week and don’t forget that they love to be misted to keep their leaves fresh and green. Underwatering can cause dried leaves and brown leaf tips. In general, although they should be kept moist do not let them sit in water.
