The Little Botanical turns 5!
In celebration of our milestone 5th birthday, we thought we’d take a little look at everything we’ve done this year in the world of fabulous foliage.
TLB was born from a desire to bring beautifully packaged, easy-care houseplants to market, making green styling effortless for all you plant lovers. That simple mission is still at the heart of everything we do. And what a year it’s been, growing our range to make sure we continue to provide stylish, green solutions that our customers love.

A Sweet Treat
A particular focus for The Little Botanical this year has been looking at our gifting options to ensure that we are a one stop shop for all your gifting needs. Obviously, our gorgeous plants, ready-styled in beautiful bespoke ceramics have always been infinitely giftable and the option to include a handwritten note with your order has been available for some time.
This year, however, we have taken our gifting options up a level with the introduction of this stunning chocolate range.
We have a selection of 4 delectable flavours to choose from; Dark Chocolate with Honeycomb, Dark Chocolate with Mint & Crystal Crunch, Dark Chocolate with Spiced Rum, Chilli & Caribbean Crunch and White Chocolate with Madagascan Vanilla and they are all supplied by the wonderful ARTHOUSE Unlimited. The chocolate itself is made right here in the UK by a specialist chocolatier using ethically sourced, sustainable cocoa and is part of the Cacao-Trace sourcing programme. Each bar is wrapped in recyclable gold foil and then placed in a reusable envelope adorned with gorgeously unique artwork complete with gold metallic detail for a truly luxurious look and feel that’s just perfect for gifting.
Simply add a bar of chocolate to your basket along with your chosen botanical and we’ll deliver this thoughtful gift straight to their door, complete with a handwritten note on a bespoke TLB postcard. Or, you can choose one of our ready-made plant and chocolate bundles, thoughtful gifts for those you love couldn’t be easier.
Make it Personal
Continuing with the theme of making each product even more giftable, one of our proudest achievements this year is the introduction of our personalisation service. You can now add a personal message to our metallic dipped and glazed ceramics, the perfect way to make your gift truly unique.
“How nice that you can add a message or a name or an important date to one of our pots and send it to a friend. A personalised plant makes the nicest thoughtful gift.” The range of different messages we see winging their way to new owners are a joy to behold, we hope they make their recipients smile as much they make us smile.
Limited Edition Exclusive Ranges
Here at TLB HQ, we decided there was a lot to celebrate this year. We hope you, our plant loving customers have enjoyed all the newness we have added to the range.
Back in May we were very keen to commemorate and celebrate out late Queen reaching the momentous milestone of her Platinum Jubilee. To mark her unprecedented 70 year reign we launched a limited edition range of gorgeous greenery styled in our signature metallic-dipped ceramics, all with a certain regal air, carefully selected to reflect Her Majesty’s elegant style and bring a little majesty to your celebratory proceedings.
And summertime saw the launch of our first ever summer drop; a range of limited edition ceramics in 4 bright and beautiful on trend colours; cool blue, pastel pink, sunshine yellow and gorgeous green made up this oh so stylish quartet. We were very slightly obsessed with this summery addition and were thrilled to bring you guys the opportunity to inject some fresh and vibrant colour to your home. And it turned out, you plant lovers were just as excited as us because this new range sold out in just 5 weeks!
British Grown
We are very proud to say that we now grow 70% of our products on our own nursery in West Sussex meaning you can order from us safe in the knowledge that the plants you receive will be fresh as a daisy!
In particular, we have increased our range of home-grown Calatheas and we now grow all varieties of Calathea right here in West Sussex, bringing you even more choice.
Best-selling My Home Bundle is Now Even Better
Our My Home Bundle, a best-selling selection of stunning houseplants and succulents, has been a long-time favourite among TLB fans. And this year we made it even more appealing by introducing more pot options for this beautiful bundle. You can now choose between three fab ceramic options; black and gold ceramic with textured grey pot, green and gold ceramic with charcoal stoneware or grey concrete ceramic with almond stoneware; decisions, decisions.
All New Glazed Pots
With ever a watchful eye on interior style trends, we are always mindful of providing our customers with stylish options for their plants that will complement their interiors. With that in mind, we added a new range of bespoke reactive glaze ceramics to our portfolio earlier in the Autumn. Our charming collection of small and medium glazed pots is available in a range of contemporary colours for a stylish, botanical statement in any space. We love them and we’re pleased to say they seem to be going down a treat with you guys too.
The Same Great Plants Delivered to Your Door… Just Quicker
We listened to you lovely lot, you wanted your carefully selected purchases even more quickly. And so, earlier this year we introduced our express delivery service. So now, when you select express delivery at the checkout, your order will be delivered within 1 to 2 working days as opposed to 3 to 5 working days with standard delivery. That’s twice as fast – winning!
Recognition of our Expertise
We can’t let our 5th birthday go by without a little nod to our co-founder Morag Hill whose experience and expertise play a fundamental role in the success of The Little Botanical. And we’re very pleased that over the last 12 months her expertise has been noted and acknowledged by more than just the team here at TLB, with her plant care advice being quoted in a number of national publications, sometimes more than once! Her wise words have been seen in all manner of publications from daily nationals to glossies including the Daily Express, The Sun, The Scottish Sun, Stylist, Living etc and Home and Gardens, to name but a few.
What’s Next?
Well, we don’t want to spoil any surprises here but we can tell you that despite the year being almost at an end, we’re not finished with our new launches for 2022 just yet. Watch this space for a new product joining the TLB range very soon that we’re super excited about. We can tell you that they’re not plants but they do come in our bespoke ceramics, they smell divine and they’ll look flaming perfect flickering next to your green beauties… was that enough clues?
And it doesn’t stop there, we’ve got more new launches in the pipeline for 2023, stay tuned for new additions to our range of statement plants, that sad and empty corner in your home need be sad and empty no more!
