From the moment you step inside the front door this pretty hall table display gives an instant homely feel. If your home is anything like mine, it takes a nano second for the hallway to become a cluttered dumping ground. In the blink of an eye the floor is covered with bags and shoes! It drives me mad so I’ve created a little oasis of calm – my hall table. I’ve covered it with one of my favourite vintage cloths and styled with some of my treasured old books. It really is the perfect place to display fresh flowers from the Flowers with Soul range. A wonderful distraction from all the surrounding chaos.
I’ve chosen our lovely ‘Pretty Cool & Captivating’ bouquet from our Flowers with Soul collection. With it’s subtle colours and aromatic Eucalyptus it oozes calm and sophistication. I’ve created my arrangement in a vintage metal urn. There’s something very charming and nostalgic
about old kitchen enamelware, it seems to work so well with flowers whatever the
season. It also seems to fit in well with so many different types of interiors.
I’ve kept it super simple to make so why not follow these easy steps and give it a go?!
I used a 30cm square of chicken wire to hold my flowers in place. It’s far more eco friendly than that dreaded ‘old school’ floral foam. I squished it together to fit snugly inside the urn and tucked in any sharp edges. I added water to just over half way and mixed in my flower food.
I then unwrapped my Pretty Cool & Captivating bouquet and snipped the band holding the flowers and foliage together. I cut the stems to 20-30cm placing each one carefully into the wire. As a rule of thumb I like to keep longer stems towards the back, graduating to the shorter ones at the front. Keep adding the stems checking you are happy with the shape of the arrangement. Place your display where it will be seen and admired the most! Apart from the hall table I think flowers look lovely on a shelf, on a kitchen counter or as a centrepiece in a living room. Make sure you keep the water topped up.
The Roses, Poppy Heads, Eucalyptus and Thistle can all be saved and air dried – a lovely way to enjoy your arrangement long after it’s been made.

Happy arranging!
