I have light green fronds with air purifying power, making me popular in office spaces.
The Chamaedorea is easy to grow indoors thanks to their tolerance of low light levels, so they will thrive in your home or office. They are often referred to as a Parlour Palm because the Victorians were fond of displaying them in parlours.
With their exotic, elegant beauty, they considered them a botanical status symbol and liked to position their Parlour Palm for neighbours and visitors to admire, while also showing them that they had money to spend.
These days, the gorgeous Chamaedorea can often be spotted filling out a bouquet but we think this lovely little plant doesn’t need to hide and can hold it’s own all by itself; especially when he’s planted in one of our gorgeous, bespoke ceramics. And it’s not just us who thinks this guy is fab; as well as being gorgeous, the Parlour Palm features on the NASA list of best air purifying plants; a plant buddy with benefits!
The Chamaedorea is fab if you have pets as he is part of our pet friendly houseplant range so he’ll keep your four-legged friends happy too.
I’m not just pretty, I am pet friendly too!
So, from the Victorians to NASA to our four-legged friends, everyone loves a Parlour Palm.
Other names: Chamaedorea elegans, Parlour Palm, Neanthe Bella Palm.
Care
Keep your Parlour Palm out of draughts and away from radiators. He will be happy in shaded areas. Avoid placing him in direct bright sunlight as this will scorch the leaves. Water sparingly in winter and more frequently in summer. Do not let your Parlour Palm stand in water.
