We had the most fun the other week doing our photoshoot with the fabulous Julia Toms.

We captured some fantastic shots of our Christmas range, the Christmas trees twinkled beside the fireplace and we enjoyed positioning cups coffee and mince pies (not forgetting the realistic pastry crumbs).  The gold tipped succulents (available on our site soon, watch this space) looked perfectly cute on the cosy fluffy sheepskin rug amongst comfy cushions and lit candles.  It is lovely to see the products we have designed take pride and place in situ in a beautifully designed home.

We do love to style the shoot and it’s quite possibly one of our favourite parts– the lead up where we are pulling together the props for the photos; shopping for pumpkins not forgetting trends – it’s all about white pumpkins this year, buying big fluffy cushions and chunky throws.  We are self-confessed shopaholics at The Little Botanical and absolutely love interiors, so we can’t deny we love that part of the job!

At the shoot, Julia spends time moving things around, while we add in more plants to help get the balance just right.  We can be found gathering the props and placing them for the next take; from bottles of our favourite gin, the perfect glasses and a rose gold tray to funky skulls and gold cactus ornaments.  Each shot is perfected created and makes us want to have a drink beside our little plant gangs – it looks so inviting.

By the end of the day, we are all a bit bedraggled and certainly glad that the camera hasn’t been pointing at us – the plants take all the glory and quite rightly too. They look just perfect – different styles and sizes all working together. The shots have been created and we have had a hectically busy but massively fun day.

Until the next one and next time we might even step in front of the camera, so you get to see the little team behind the scenes – just the once!
